In 1993, on a visit to Fort Lauderdale after returning from the beach one day, we realized that there were no REAL Italian ices in the area. After a few months of research and finding just the right location, "Richies" was born! Originally, we opened under the name IGI, "Italian Gourmet Ices." Over the years, we remodeled three times and finally changed the name to reflect who we are and not the little hut that sells Italian ice and coffee.

We have received many accolades over the years from the neighborhood as well as from many local newspapers, including a front-page business article in the Sun Sentinel on July 16, 1993. This, along with many "Best of Awards" from local newspapers. We have been active in our local community since we opened, from local schools to the many charities that call on us for help in fundraising. All of our staff (we call family) have been with us for many years and are dedicated to making sure that our customers are satisfied.
